Please join us to meet Brandon Bond, the City of Menlo Park’s new Disaster Preparedness Coordinator. Mr. Bond will update us on his background, share his initial thoughts after working at MP for about a month, and introduce us to his FEMA Search & Rescue dog! His talk will include Q&A. The meeting will also include an interactive, small group discussions (in table groups) to discuss and brainstorm fun and easy-to-implement social events on the block.

We will also update you on our Pilot Program for a Neighborhood Gathering Place for a post disaster situation. We applied for, and received, a $4K Community Funding grant from the City of Menlo Park for this purpose. We want to make it easier for Block Coordinators, or equivalent, to help pull together the members of the block to check in on neighbors, to solve block problems where possible, and to report critical situations to the City of Menlo Park.
