Having the RIGHT information at the RIGHT time will help you make the RIGHT decisions in an emergency or disaster. Use the information provided by SMC Alert and other local, State, and Federal alert and warning systems, to get the most up-to-date information on emergencies and disasters happening in your area. Be sure to monitor television, radio, and County and City websites for important announcements.  

SMC Alert

SMC Alert is San Mateo County’s official emergency alert and warning system. The alert provides useful information and updates by sending text messages to your: Email accounts (home, work, school, etc.) Cell phones. Pagers. 

AlertSCC

AlertSCC is Santa Clara County’s official emergency alert and warning system. Once you are signed up, AlertSCC allows you to add your parents, children, and friends’ addresses to your profile so you can help them monitor alerts in their area when you’re away. 

City of Menlo Park Emergency Communications

At the City’s emergency alerts landing page, you may register to receive general city news and announcements and for the City’s social media accounts.  

Genasys Protect   

Genasys Protect, formerly known as Zonehaven Aware, is an evacuation management tool that helps communities and first responders more effectively plan, communicate, and execute evacuations. It is a platform where residents can look up their addresses using the search bar and use the zone map to find evacuation information for their area. Stay informed by enabling Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on your mobile device along with signing up for SMC Alert (and others). 

National Weather Service

The National Weather Service’s interactive website provides early alerts and warnings about weather conditions.

San Francisquito Creek Flood Monitoring

The San Francisquito Creek flood monitoring landing page includes links to the City of Palo Creek monitoring and camera systems. The  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) California and Nevada River Monitoring System has a page for the San Francisquito Creek.

Shake Alert

The Cal Fire App helps you to prepare for wildfire season.
